Loch Lomond
Narcisse and I took her Bank holiday to go to Loch Lomond, ranked as the third prettiest loch in all of Scotland.

Charing Cross in Glasgow. I just think it's neat looking.
Inspiration from a can of spray paint. At least one of you will appreciate this like I do (Leila).A thirty minute train ride out of Glasgow landed us at the southern tip of the loch on a gorgeous day. We found a spot by the water to eat our ready-made Morrisons sandwiches and then stopped through a shop where I discovered the ressurection of the "Little Miss" book series for children. I couldn't resist, so I picked up copies of Little Miss Sunshine, Mr. Happy and Mr. Messy. I used to redraw these characters as a child, along with Calvin and Hobbes. Next we took a walk through the woods with the help of Narcisse's lightning-fast, precise map reading skills. It was incredibly beautiful, in a way I doubt the photos are able to convey. To finish off our time at Loch Lomond, we took an hour boat ride with a bus full of German tourists. The boat tour guide had a hilariously deadpan yet charmingly musical voice (because of his rich accent which inherently involves elongated vowels and tongue rolls). "On your left you'll see the castle turned hotel which has hosted such personalities as Paul McCartney, Michael Jackson, Barbara Streisand and myself." We wondered if any of the other tourists even picked up on it.
On the train ride back, a friendly (possibly inebriated) man with his girlfriend asked, "Is your accent Canadian?" It took a minute for me to realize that his comment was directed at me, and so I dumbly replied, "no" and nothing more. He persisted nonetheless and asked, "From near the border then?" To which I replied, "Near Niagara Falls." "Oh yeah, Buffalo, eh? I've been there. Cousins live around there." It was pretty fantastic. And was followed by other banter.
In the evening, we went over to Liam's for some grub and conversation.

Melanie,
Last week while stopped at a railroad crossing I saw a whole Christmas scene with three snow men, a Christmas Tree, Presents, under the tree and angels with the sun shinning, all spray painted on the entire side of a rail car while I was in an air conditioned car with 102 F outside in Houston. And I thought "cool!" I must have just seen the Michael Angelo of Graffiti and he's stuck at the North Pole!"
