Contemplating the 4th of July got me a little misty-eyed thinking about the Founding Fathers, and particularly Thomas Jefferson, who happened to also found my alma mater, the University of Virginia. Here are some snaps of the Rotunda, that historic icon whose "sides" always made me smile when passing by, as if a circular building could somehow have
sides that emphasized its
roundness...Also appearing are pics of my shadow (shadow photos fascinate and delight me endlessly) and a tiny affirmation someone stuck on the ceremonial entrance door.

Melanie,
UVa is a great place. We are so glad you were able to attend this school and experience its place in history.
Someday hopefully everyone will share the principles of truth, honor, tolerance and equallity.
America was blessed and still is blessed to foster and carry those ideals. Truly God has shed his grace on this land as a covenant - one that we must all work to protect and uphold for all the people in the world.
